Como Zoo in the Spring

We took the Boys to the Como zoo after their haircuts yesterday since it was so nice out. Of course everyone else had the same idea since it was packed. But they had a great time just running around.

Cooper Can Read

By just watching the "Your Baby Can Read Commercials" Cooper has learned to read! As you can see from the video I think he reads well beyond his 18 months. He's even into sports and art, he's incredibly well rounded ;)

Mr C got his first pair of glasses today! The challenge now is trying to keep them on him. He did great in the eye glass place (show off) but since getting home I think we've already put them back on 50 times. This should be fun. Hopefully he'll forget they're there. Of course how we get Linc to forget is another mystery.

Xmas Morning

We had a wonderful Christmas with the boys. They enjoyed all of the toys (once they figured out how to open them). Of course we ended up unwrapping 80% of them and let them tear the rest off. I have a feeling it will be very different next year. Thank you to all of our friends and family for the wonderful gifts. You spoil us so! We love you.

Santa 09

Somehow in our fog we call last year we didn't get to visit Santa with the boys, imagine that. So today we took them the first time. They did just fine, no tears at all. Too bad I was kind-of hoping to get the crying, get me off this weird guys lap. But nope. Just half smiles by the boys. But notice Santa has that "only 5 more days of this crap" look on his face? Maybe we'd have gotten better smiles from Santa 20 days ago.

Minnesota Children's Museum

The boys spent a Sunday afternoon at the Minnesota Children's Museum with our friend Shannon and her little girl. They have a great area for little kids to run around and explore. as you can see Mr. C at one point just gave up he was so tired.

Thanksgiving Trip To The Zoo

During our trip down to Kansas for Thanksgiving we took the boys to the Wichita zoo. Mr C. yelled daddy when I out him in front of the Bronze Gorilla (seriously I couldn't make this up), the meerkats seemed to like the boys and came right up to the glass to investigate. And we paid a dollar to hold hay for 15 minutes while the giraffe's ignored us. good times.

Andy gave Mr. C a green bell pepper to keep him occupied when we went grocery shopping last night. We both thought he might take a bite, and then just play with it, but nope he hate about half of it! I tell you I would have lost that bet. Glad he likes his veggies.

Apparently if you leave two babies alone for 5 minutes with pretzels and soda on the table will help themselves. Funny thing is they drip the sippy cups everywhere when you give it to them, but some how they were able to get the huge cup with soda down and drink from it without spilling a drop. Hummm....I feel a conspiracy theory starting.

The boys 2nd Halloween went over really well. They seemed to think the outfits were silly and weren't instantly crying to get the off. So over all I think it was a success. Now just wait till they have an opinion on what they want to wmear.

I got an unexpected surprise this morning. I was about to leave for work when I heard a thump and then some crying. I went into the boys room and tried to open the door and it hit Linc in the head. Um yeah that’s not where we left him last night. I guess he can now get out of his crib at will. And well I’m afraid that's straight down head first onto the floor. Luckily we have carpet on the hardwood. Needless to say Daddy’s job today is to lower the crib before someone ends up in the emergency room with a broken arm or fractured skull. I think we’re raising monkeys!

We also stopped by this great Apple and Pumpkin farm we stumbled upon. The boys had fun playing in the pumpkins and on the farm equipment. Can't wait to make an apple crisp with the honeycrisp apples we got. Yummy.

Thank you to all of our wonderful friends and family who donated almost $300 in new books for the boys birthday. We dropped them off at the Stillwater Lakeview hospital foundation this week. They were overly thrilled and touched to receive them. Thank you so much!!!!!

We turned one today. It's hard to believe that it's been one year since we were in the hospital wondering how much longer we'd be able to keep them in. Why is it every new skill they learn is something that makes more of a mess? The boys figured out how to open our dresser drawers. Funny since I don't think they've ever seen us open them. I also love how it's always Mr C in the biggest mess with Linc standing by for support. I see a pattern emerging.

Baby Proofing 101

The boys figured out how to open the cabinets this past week. Since were in the middle of trying to sell our house we didn’t want to go and put locks on all the cabinet doors. So Daddy created these nice removable wire things that help keep the cabinets closed. Well doesn’t it figure that Mr C moves the Diaper Genie over to help him keep his balance and then sits there trying to figure out how to get them off. And what does Linc do? Sits and watches Mr C to learn how to do it too. Oh we’re in trouble.
